Christmas be a stressful time — from cooking Christmas dinner, to buying presents, or making small talk at the Christmas party. And perhaps we feel pressure to have the perfect Christmas based on what others share on Instagram or Facebook. But who are we trying to impress?

Thankfully, we don’t need to impress God to find favour with Him. In fact, it was because we were so unimpressive, and actually had sinned horribly against Him, that God sent Jesus to earth to pay for all the wrong we have done by dying on the cross.

That means, we don’t earn our forgiveness by doing good things (including being nice at Christmas) but rather, our forgiveness comes from the good that Jesus has already done for us.
