Advent calendar: Day 13 – Jesus

On one hand, it’s easy to get caught up in all the trappings of Christmas — the food, the music, the decorations, the presents, the family gatherings. But it’s also inescapable that this celebration marks something that fundamentally changed the world, whether that’s first in our minds or not. And that something is actually someone; Jesus. Born as a baby, but crucified as an adult, He then rose from the dead, seen by over 500 people at once. And history was forever changed. But so were His disciples. So sure were they of all He had said and did, that many of them died for it.

And that leaves us with the question Jesus once asked them; “who do you say I am?”. So then, who do you say Jesus is? A mere historical figure? A good teacher? Or who He said He was — the Son of God, who died to pay for your sin.
