Simply teaching the Bible, simply

Time

This study was taught at our Sunday evening service by Matt Randall on the 30th May 2021. You can listen to the audio on this web page or save it for later listening.

Summary of this study

Time is something that we cannot control – we cannot turn it back, or make more of it. It is also a finite resource – we cannot save it, bank it or borrow it (despite the common phrases we use). We should therefore consider what God’s will is for our lives, and use our time well – ultimately, for His purposes. In doing so, we should consider what our priorities are, and allocate our time accordingly.

If you read history you will find that the Christians who did the most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next.

Series overview: The big areas of our lives

During this series we’ll take a look at 11 topics – one each week – that affect us, our families, our friends, and our church family. We’ll be looking at what the Bible has to say about Education, Career, Finances, Time, Friendships, Singleness & relationships, Marriage, Children, Health & illness, Death, and Church.

Why look at these topics? Well, God has given us everything we need for every area of our lives, so that we know how we should live and conduct ourselves in these areas, our foundation for this series being the first 4 verses of 2 Peter chapter one…

Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Peter 1:1-4
