Proverbs 2:10-4:27

This study is part of our series of verse by verse studies of Proverbs, the 20th book in the Bible. Taught by Sim Forder, one of our pastors, at our Sunday morning service on the 12th September 2021. You can watch or listen on this web page or save the audio for later listening.

Summary of this study

Proverbs is the book of wisdom. But it is not enough to memorise it, or have specific verses as fridge magnets, for we need to apply it to our lives – and through these chapters, Solomon sets out the value of wisdom – its effects and benefits – and pleads with us to take hold of it, keep company with it, and learn more about it. This has little to do with our heads, and much to do with our hearts.

Application questions

  • Are you valuing wisdom more than gold or silver? What does your calendar say?
  • Are you honouring the Lord with your possessions, and your time?
  • Father’s are you teaching your children God’s Word and wisdom? (mother’s too!)
