Since sin entered in at the garden of Eden (through Adam and Eve), there has been a debt that could not be paid by sinful man. And sin ultimately leads to death. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16 says; For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus is the only way to an eternal life. Being the only sinless man, He had to die so that we can be saved. It is the ultimate love story. God loves me and he also loves you so much, He was willing to go to the cross to save us. By His blood we shall be saved.
