What are you hoping to get for Christmas? That’s what some will ask you. And it’s what many of us are thinking about. But as enjoyable as Christmas presents can be in the moment, the excitement is short lived. But there’s a different kind of gift that is far greater than anything you can wrap up in paper — and that is the gift that God gave to the world that Christmas, and that is the gift of His Son, Jesus, who came into this world, not so we’d have a reason to take a few days off school or work, but that we might be forgiven for all the wrong we have done. How? By Jesus dying in our place.

That is the greatest gift you or I can ever receive. And it’s one truly worth celebrating.
