2 Corinthians 7:2-8:7

This study is part of our series of verse by verse studies of 2 Corinthians, the 47th book in the Bible. Taught by Sim Forder, one of our pastors, at our Sunday evening service on the 13th March 2022. You can watch or listen on this web page or save the audio for later listening.

Summary of this study

In this passage, we see 3 main topics – repentance, joy, and giving. And Paul describes how godly sorrow produces a wonderful change in us, just as he had seen in the Corinthians since his last letter. But what of us? Are we sorry because of the mess our actions have left us in? Or are we sorry because our actions have gone against God and His Word?

When it comes to giving, knowing what Christ gave for us, we should willingly give our all – just as the woman who gave her two mites at the temple.

The real test of any person lies in what he gives. Someone has said there are three books that are essential for a worship service: the first book is the Bible, the second is the hymn book, and the third is the pocketbook. Giving is a part of our worship to God. If we do not have the grace of giving, we should pray to God and ask Him to give us a generous, sharing spirit.
