We have a private WhatsApp group for those that are regularly part of the church family here at DCF, allowing us to actively pray for and encourage one another. If you have questions about the group, or would like to be added, please speak to the pastor or an elder at any DCF event.
Overview for our church family
We encourage you to share items for prayer (and thanks for answered prayer), words of encouragement, and other news updates and articles that you believe would help strengthen and encourage our church family in their relationship with the Lord. It is perfectly good to share practical needs or offer practical help too.
Whenever posting, we encourage you to remember what we read in Romans 14:19 – “Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.”
If you choose not to or cannot use WhatsApp, please speak to the pastor or elder so that we can find the best way to keep you informed of prayer requests etc.
Important information
When joining any WhatsApp group, including this one, your phone number will be visible to other members of the group. Your profile photo, last seen, and status information may or may not be visible, depending on the settings within WhatsApp on your mobile phone.
Prayer requests and individuals' contact details should be considered private and not discussed or shared outside of our church family.
For clarity, being that anyone in the group can send message, please note that the views and opinions expressed in this group do not necessarily reflect the official stance of DCF.
Group guidelines
As with all our words, the things we say in our WhatsApp group should honour the Lord. Below are several Biblical instructions that we ask everyone to abide by here too. If in doubt, ask yourself; is it true, is it kind, and is it necessary?
1. Behave like a Christian.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honour giving preference to one another… continuing steadfastly in prayer… Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep… Romans 12:9-21
2. Speak kindly. Aim to encourage.
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29
3. Pray. And remember to give thanks for answered prayer, especially to the Lord.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
4. Keep the main thing the main thing. That is Jesus. The Gospel.
Now I plead with you… that you all speak the same thing… that there be no divisions among you… For Christ did not send me to baptise, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. 1 Corinthians 1:10-17
5. Avoid arguments of any kind.
It is honourable for a man to stop striving, since any fool can start a quarrel. Proverbs 20:3
6. If you believe someone is in error, or in sin, you should speak to them in person.
Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. Matthew 18:15
7. The pastor & elders will remove messages/content that is contrary to the Bible.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8
