This study was taught at our Sunday evening service by Sim Forder, one of our pastors, on the 15th November 2020. You can listen to the audio on this web page or save it for later listening.
At the start of this study we considered the importance of prophecy, but that it should be part of our understanding of scripture – not the sole focus of our attention;
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
We then looked at the chronology of history, and the following passages of rebukes and exhortations related to the end times;
- Matthew 24:3-4
- 2 Peter 1:20-21
- Revelation 22:18-19
- 2 Peter 3:1-9
- 2 Peter 3:14-18
- 2 Timothy 2:15-18
- Romans 11:1
- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
- 2 Peter 3:10-13
- 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
- Titus 2:11-14
- 1 Corinthians 15:50-55
In conclusion, we should look for the Lord’s return, know it could happen at any time – and that will change our attitude to how we live now;
- Are you living as if Jesus could return at any moment?
- Are you longing for His return, or the things of this world?
- Are you sharing the gospel with those that need it?
