About this book

Esther records the incredible deliverance of the Jews during their Babylonian captivity, which is still celebrated today in the feast of Purim. While this book of the Bible is unusual, in that God is not directly mentioned, in it we see God’s providence in arranging the circumstances for their deliverance, and examples – good and bad – in the characters we follow there.

About this study

Haman attends a second banquet with the king and Queen Esther, where the king asks her once more what her request is – little does Haman suspect that her request will implicate him as the man responsible for her impending death. The king is furious, and ultimately Haman is hung on the very gallows he had prepared for Esther’s older cousin, Mordecai. But Esther once again needs to plead with the King, that something may be done to counteract the law Haman had put in place.
