Summary of this study
Education is important – and it can be prioritised for both good and bad reasons. But even more important than education is wisdom. As Einstein said; “Any fool can know. The point is to understand”. So where do we find wisdom? Well, the Bible, especially in Proverbs, helps us to see that wisdom ultimately has one source, and that is God (see Proverbs 1:1-7). In this study we looked at how we should approach education, and the importance of it, but how we should also hold what we learn in light of what God has revealed in His Word.
Series overview: The big areas of our lives
During this series we’ll take a look at 11 topics – one each week – that affect us, our families, our friends, and our church family. We’ll be looking at what the Bible has to say about Education, Career, Finances, Time, Friendships, Singleness & relationships, Marriage, Children, Health & illness, Death, and Church.
Why look at these topics? Well, God has given us everything we need for every area of our lives, so that we know how we should live and conduct ourselves in these areas, our foundation for this series being the first 4 verses of 2 Peter chapter one…
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
