When King Herod had a surprise visit from the wise men, and they told him that they were looking for the newborn King of the Jews, he was worried. In fact, he was so terrified that this would change his life, that he would no longer be in charge, that he acted rashly and cruelly, ordering the murder of all the boys under 2 years old in the area.

Now, you might not stoop to the depths of Herod, and I’m sure you won’t, but perhaps it does worry you that if you accept Jesus as King, you’ll not be in charge any more. That some things will change. But don’t believe for a moment that having Jesus in your life will ruin it. For if Herod had only had an open heart, He would have found out that the birth of this boy was the greatest news he’d ever heard.
