Our women's Bible study takes place every other Thursday during time from 8pm to 9pm at the pastor's home.
Lifestyle is a friendly, light-hearted, informal evening meeting for the ladies. It is not aimed at any particular age group and a wide range of subjects are studied to include everyone. It is usually led by Siân Forder, our pastor’s wife and takes place every other Thursday evening (see our calendar here).
The purpose of this meeting, as a group for ladies of all ages, is to encourage a way of living that has God at the centre, which influences everything we do. Everyone of us encounters trials and tribulations throughout our lives, sometimes of our own doing – sometimes through circumstances we find ourselves in.
Meeting together as Christians, whether ‘new’ or ‘old’ in our walk with God, is good for our health, both physical and spiritual. Just making the effort to get to a meeting means exercise, so that can’t be bad. It’s easy to be reluctant to get up and go to meet with others but making an effort to attend a meeting can have a beneficial effect. Our emotional well-being is important to God and women HAVE been made different to men and so meeting up is good for us. (So too, for the men). But most important of all is our spiritual growth. As children, we learnt at home and by going to Sunday school, so why as children of God shouldn’t we meet together to continually learn of His plan and purpose; of His unconditional love for each one of us; and to understand why we need to live a Godly lifestyle.
One off topics are looked at on some evenings; some issues cover more than one week and sometimes the study of a particular subject can take months! All who attend are amazed at how much has been learnt and yet how much there is still to learn.
But speak you the things which become sound doctrine: ...The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Titus 2:1, 3-5
