Much like the society in which the early Christians lived, our culture is not short of problems and the need for a solid foundation is ever more important in the lives of us all, but especially those who are entering adulthood, university, the workplace, serious relationships, marriage, families and so on, all for the first time. The life of a Christian is, or at least should be, a radical one – and just as the early church had a reputation for turning the world upside down with the message they brought (Acts 17:6-7), we want to equip our young people to stand-out & stand-up for the truth, and the values that accompany it.
Every other Tuesday (during term time) the 18-30 year olds meet together for a time of Bible study led by Mark Viney (one of our Elders) or one of the young people themselves. This is a valuable time to not only have fun and build friendships with each other, but to talk about the issues that are relevant for this early stage of adulthood.
Let no man despise your youth; but be you an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
– 1 Timothy 4:12
